Scottish folk, rock and jazz music artist Bert Jansch (birth name Herbert Jansch) was born on 3 November 1943, in Glasgow, Scotland. He is also well known as a founding member of the British folk rock band, Pentangle. As a teenager, he was influenced by the world music artist Davey Graham and folk singer Anne Briggs. In the mid-1960, he moved to London to develop his musical skills. In 1965, he released his self-titled debut album, which included his first singles such as "Smokey River", "Oh How Your Love Is Strong", "I Have No Time" and "Finches". A year later, he along with his friend and guitarist John Renbourn released Jack Orion, which was highly praised by critics and it spawned the singles, "The Waggoner's Lad", "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "Jack Orion", "The Gardener" and "Nottamun Town".
