Yoko Ono

Japanese-American avant-garde, rock, pop and electronica music artist and musician Yoko Ono was born on February 18, 1933, in Tokyo, Japan. She is the best known for her marriage to the English legendary rock musician John Lennon. When she was seven years old, her family moved to New York City. In the beginning, she collaborated with experimental music artists such as John Cage and jazz legend Ornette Coleman. In the early 1960s, she made her debut at the 258-seat Carnegie Recital Hall. She achieved mainstream success in the early 1970s with her breakthrough album, Plastic Ono Band, which included the guest appearances of a conceptual supergroup, Plastic Ono Band.
