Wuthering Heights

Danish heavy metal, power metal, progressive metal and folk metal band Wuthering Heights from Copenhagen, Denmark, was formed in 1989. The band comprises Erik Ravn (guitar, bass, keyboards, vocals), Morten Gade Sorensen (drums, percussion, also member of Pyramaze), Nils Patrik Johansson (vocals, also member of Astral Doors), Teddy Möller (bass, drums, guitar, vocals), Andreas Lindhal (keyboards, also member of Audiovision) and Martin Arendal (guitar, also member of Manticora). Originally the band was formed under the name Angelica. The band's subject matter is somewhat varied, but typically includes Tolkienic fantasy and more traditional folklore-influenced works, with an additional emphasis on fantasy-tinged, new-age-style nature themes. They achieved mainstream success in 1999 with their breakthrough debut album, Within, which produced several singles such as "Enter the Cave", "Hunter in the Dark", "Too Great Thy Gift" and "Sorrow in Memoriam".
