Wombats

The Wombats are an English indie rock band coming from Liverpool, England, the UK. The band was founded in 2003 in Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts where all the members met each other. The band composes of two Liverpudlians - Matthew Murphy (vocals, guitar, nose-harp and keyboards) and Dan Haggis (drums, vocals) and Norwegian Tord Øverland-Knudsen (bass, vocals). The band released their debut album "Girls, Boys, and Marsupials" in 2006. It was released only in Japan. Their debut UK album The Wombats Proudly Present: A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation was released in 2007. The album was supported by several singles like "Moving To New York", "Backfire at the Disco", "Let's Dance To Joy Division" and "Kill the Director". The singer "Let's Dance To Joy Division” won them 'Best Dancefloor Filler' at NME Awards. They performed at Glastonbury Festival, Reading and Leeds festival.
