Ugly Duckling

Ugly Duckling is an American hip hop group coming from Long Beach, California, the United States. The group was founded in 1995 and the current members include Dizzy Dustin (Dustin McFarland), Young Einstein (Rodney Pleasant Jr) and Andy Cat (Andy Cooper). According to the group, they chose that name as they felt that they were outcasts on then-California hip-hop scene. The band has been influenced by old school hip-hop and their lyrics are intelligent and humorous poking the modern hip-hop main topics “sex and materialism”. The band has released four albums, three extended plays, one compilation album and quite a lot of singles. The band has not achieved mainstream success and their songs weren’t noticed on the charts.
