Travie McCoy, birth name Travis Lazarus McCoy is an American singer, songwriter and rapper born on August 5, 1981 in Geneva, New York. He is known primary as the lead vocalist in the alternative hip-hop group Gym Class Heroes. The band was founded in 2001 with Matt McGuinley his school friend. McCoy was arrested in 2008 after he hit a man on the head with his microphone as a man was shouting out racial slurs at McCoy while being in the crowd at a concert. McCoy is known to date with singer Katy Perry. He has released his debut solo album Lazarus in 2010. The album peaked at number 25 on the Billboard 200. The album spawned the hit single "Billionaire" (featuring Bruno Mars). The singles reached number 4 on the Billboard 100 and hit the charts in other countries too.
