Tony Bennett, birth name Anthony Dominick Benedetto is an American singer of popular music and jazz, born on August 3, 1926 in Astoria, Queens, New York City, New York, the U.S. he began his career as pop music artist of the Italian-American tradition, like of Frank Sinatra, Perry Como and Dean Martin. At the beginning of 21st century, he is the only one who still preserves these traditions. His first success happened in 1951 when he released a song “Because of You”. That was a slow love ballade featuring 1940 film. The song reached the top spot of the Billboard chart and spent there 10 weeks. The song sold more than 1 million copies. His popularity fell down during the beginning of rock and roll era but Bennett came back in 1990s when he released several tribute albums, which earned him Grammy.
