They Might Be Giants

They Might Be Giants (commonly abbreviated TMBG) is an American alternative rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York, the United States in 1982. The current band’s line-up consists of Marty Beller, John Flansburgh, John Linnell, Dan Miller and of Danny Weinkauf. The band was founded by two Johns and at first it was a duo but later they extended to a full size band. The band’s name was taken from a 1971 film They Might Be Giants. Originally this phrase is tanek from Don Quixote passage about how Quixote belives windmills to be evil giants. During its career TMBG has released 14 studio albums. The band’s breakthrough to the mainstream success happened in 1990 when they released the single “Birdhouse in Your Soul” which featured their album Flood.
