Thanatos

Dutch death and thrash metal band Thanatos comes from Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The band was formed in 1984 and they are the oldest death band in the Netherlands. The band’s line-up hasn’t been stable and the current members are Stephan Gebédi – guitar, vocals, Paul Baayens – guitar, Marco de Bruin – bass and Marco de Groot– drums. Stephan Gebedi is the founding member. The band broke up in 1992 but they reformed in 1999. The band’s early breakthrough happened with a release of their second album Realm of Ecstacy. The album received positive reviews from the critics. Despite such success, the band faced the problems, cancelled the tour with Cannibal Corpse and Exhorder and broke up.
