Theodore DeReese Pendergrass, better known as Teddy Pendergrass was an American R&B, soul, gospel and jazz singer, songwriter and composer, born on March 26, 1950 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States and died on January 13, 2010 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, United States. He quickly rose to fame releasing his debut self-titled album Teddy Pendergrass. The album reached number 6 on the Top R&B/Hip-hop albums. The album was certified Platinum as well as his three next albums - Life Is a Song Worth Singing, Teddy and TP. During his career, he released three Gold albums - It's Time for Love, Love Language, and Joy. Some of his most popular singles are "I Don't Love You Anymore", "Close the Door", "Turn Off the Lights", "Love T.K.O." and some others.
