TANGIER

Tangier was an American rock band formed in 1985 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the United States. The band has released three albums but failed to reach the mainstream success. All the albums were recorded by different line-ups. The band was founded by songwriter and guitarist Doug Godron. The band gained some popularity in clubs and collaborated with the band Cinderella who helped Tangier to promote themselves inviting them to be an open act for their second major tour. The first self-titled albums was recorded by Bill Mattson (vocals), Doug Gordon (guitar, songwriter), Rocco Mazzella (guitar, songwriter), Mike Kost (bass) and by Mark Hopkins (drums). The second band’s album Four Winds was more popular. It spawned the singles “On the Line” and “Southbound Train”. The band received some recognition and they could sing a deal with a major label.
