Sylvester

Sylvester James was an American soul and disco singer. He was born on September 6, 1947 in Los Angeles, California, the United States and died on December 16, 1988. He was better known just as Sylvester. He was also a gay drag performer and is considered to be one of the first Hi-NRG artists. Sometimes he is called “Queen of disco” though this moniker was applied to many disco divas of his era. Sylvester released 14 studio albums and many hit singles. Sylvester died from AIDS in San Francisco when he was 41 years old. In 2004 his song You Make me Feel (Mighty Real) was inducted in the Dance Music Hall of Fame.
