Steve Dawson

English folk, pop, rock pop and country music singer, songwriter and musician Steve Dawson was born on February 24, 1958, in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England. He emerged on the British country music scene in the late 1970s with his breakthrough debut album, Saxon, which brought him a contract with Carrere record label. A year later, he released his following album, Wheels of Steel, which produced his first hit singles such as "Motorcycle Man", "Stand Up and Be Counted", "747 (Strangers in the Night)", "Wheels of Steel" and "Freeway Mad". It also was critical acclaimed. He continued the success with his next albums including Strong Arm of the Law (1980), Denim and Leather (1981), The Eagle Has Landed (1982), Power & the Glory (1983), Crusader (1984), Innocence Is No Excuse (1985) and BBC Sessions (1999). In 2008, he released his latest album, Waiting For The Lights To Come Up, which produced the singles, "Dry As Our Luck", "Fire Somewhere" and "Walkin' Down the Line".
