Soul Asylum

Soul Asylum is an American alternative rock band coming from Minneapolis, Minnesota, the United States. The band was formed in 1983 by drummer Dave Pirner, guitarist and backing vocalist Dan Murphy, and bassist Karl Mueller. The threesome played together since 1981 in the band called Loud Fast. In the new band, Pirner moved to lead vocals. The current band members are David Pirner (vocals, lead guitar), Dan Murphy (rhythm guitar), Michael Bland (drums), Tommy Stinson (bass guitar) and George McKelvey (bass guitar). The band has released nine studio albums. The band’s best-selling album is Grave Dancers Union (1992). It was certified 2 x Platinum.
