Son Volt

Son Volt is an alternative country group from Saint Louis, Missouri, USA. It was formed in 1994 by Jay Ferrar after the band Uncle Tupelo split. The current line-up is Jay Farrar, Dave Bryson, Andrew Duplantis, Chris Masterson and Mark Spencer. The group’s debut album “Trace” (1995) didn’t get any commercial success, but it was acclaimed by the critics and was included in the “best-of” 1995. Next albums Straightaways and Wide Swing Tremolo didn’t get any success either. After these releases there was a break and Jay Ferrar tried to make a solo career. But in 2004 the group gathered again and they decided to record a new album Okemah and the Melody of Riot. You can download this Son Volt release in mp3 from our site. The last band’s work called American Central Dust was released in 2009. The other album The Search was recorded in 2007.
