American punk rock, hardcore punk and alternative rock band Social Distortion formed in 1978 in Fullerton, California. The band comprises Mike Ness (vocals, guitar), Jonny "2 Bags" Wickersham (guitar), Brent Harding (bass) and Adam "Atom" Willard (drums). The band is often credited as one of the leading bands of the 1980s hardcore punk explosion. Among mainstream audiences, the band is best known for their hit singles "Ball and Chain", "Story of My Life", "I Was Wrong" and "Reach for the Sky" as well as a cover of Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire".
