Sleater-Kinney

Sleater-Kinney was an American indie rock band coming from Olympia, Washington. The band was founded in 1994 by Corin Tucker and Carrie Brownstein as a side-project of their bands Heavens to Betsy and Excuse 17. When these bands disbanded, Sleater-Kinney became the main focus for the girls. They travelled to Australia in 1994 and recorded their material which would become their first self-titled album. In total, the band released seven studio albums. Currently they are on hiatus since 2006. The band was named the best American rock group in 2001 in Time magazine. They reached the mainstream audience and the peak of the popularity was the album One Beat. The band opened for Pearl Jam in front of big crowds.
