Indian and ethnic music artist Shri (birth name Shrikanth Sriram) was born on October 17, 1965, in Mumbai, India. When he was a child, he and his family move to London. Exactly since that time, he started to develop his musical skills. He studied playing various instruments. During his education at school, he sang with local bands and participated in different festivals and contests. His music style is considered as a combination of rock, jazz, and drum 'n' bass. He emerged on the British music scene in 1996 with his breakthrough debut album, Drum the Bass, which was highly praised by critics. Because of such success, he signed a contract with record company. A decade later, he released his most popular album, East Rain, which produced several singles such as "Appa 2", "Heavy World", "East Rain", "Lifecycle", "Tarana" and "Di Floris".
