Shining

Swedish black metal band Shining from Halmstad, was formed in 1996. The band comprises Niklas "Kvarforth" Olsson (vocals, guitar), Fredric Gråby (rhythm and lead guitar), Peter Huss (lead and rhythm guitar), Andreas Larssen (bass) and Rickard "Rille" Schill (drums). Their lyrical themes are based on depression , suicide and angst, and their live performances contain large amounts of self-mutilation that they invite the audience to take part in. The founder of the band, Niklas "Kvarforth" Olsson, has claimed, with contentment, that there have been some cases of people committing suicide at least partially under influence of Shining's music. In 2000, Shining released their debut album, Within Deep Dark Chambers, which you may download in mp3 from our site. At first, it was a black LP limited to 500 copies. The band's fourth album, The Eerie Cold, was released in 2005. In 2009, the band released their sixth and latest album, Klagopsalmer.
