Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil in 1984. The band was founded by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera. The band’s name means “Grave” in Portuguese. The twosome was influenced by such acts like Iron Maiden, Motörhead, AC/DC, Van Halen, Ozzy Osbourne and by others. The current band’s line-up composes of Paulo Jr. – bass, Andreas Kisser – lead guitar, backing vocals, Derrick Green – lead vocals, occasionally rhythm guitar and Jean Dolabella – drums, percussion. The band sings in English and sometimes in Portuguese. The band broke through to the international fame in 1993 with their album Chaos A.D. which charted in many European countries, in Australia, UK and US. The next their album Roots (1996) has become their best-selling album to date. It was certified Gold in such countries like Australia, Canada, France, UK and US.
