Scott Stapp

American pop-grunge and hard rock singer and songwriter Scott Stapp was born on August 8, 1973 in Cherokee, North Carolina, USA. He is best known as the lead singer of the band Creed. He graduated from Lake Highland Preparatory School in Orlando, FL and then attended Valencia Community College in Orlando, where he received his associate's degree in music. He then attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, and Vol State Community College, where Creed was formed in 1995. He achieved mainstream success as a solo singer in 2005 with his breakthrough debut album, The Great Divide, which yielded two hit singles such as "The Great Divide" and "Justify".
