Rumer

Sarah Joyce better known under her stage name Rumer is a British singer-songwriter performing in such genres like pop, jazz and soul. She was born in 1979 in Pakistan. She is half English and half Pakistani, however her siblings are English. Her mother had a relationship with a local Pakistani man when her family was living there as her mother’s husband was working as an engineer on Tarbela Dam project. Sarah started to write her own songs when her mother was diagnosed breast cancer. She started singing under the name of Sarah Prentice in 2000. However, she didn’t reach any success at that time. The debut album Seasons of My Soul was released only in 2010. The album reached number 3 on the UK albums chart and number 13 on the Irish chart. It was certified Gold in the UK.
