Röyksopp is a Norwegian electronic music duo coming from Tromsø, Norway. The duo was founded in 1998 by two musicians Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge. The musicians know each other since their schooldays when they were classmates. They experimented together with electronic music at the beginning of 1990s; however, they formed a duo only when they met each other again, that time in the town of Bergen. Bergen’s underground electronic music scene received them very well and they duo began collaborating with other underground musicians. They released their debut album Melody A.M. in 2001 and the same year won two Spellemannprisen Awards (Grammy equivalent) in the nominations best Music Video (for “Eple”) and Best Electronic Album (Melody A.M.).
