Roy Kelton Orbison, known also as Roy Orbison, born on April 23, 1936 in Vernon, Texas, the United States, died on December 6, 1988 in Hendersonville, Tennessee, the U.S. He was an American rock and pop singer-songwriter and musician. Orbison is known for his powerful, distinctive voice. Complex compositions and emotional ballads. The Rolling Stone magazine puts him on the #13 in their list of 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, and on #37 in the List of The Greatest Artists of All Time. In 1987 he was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and during his career he won five Grammy Awards.
