Roberta Flack

Roberta Flack is an American singer, songwriter and musician born on February 10, 1937 in Black Mountain, North Carolina, the United States. She is famous for her incredible contribution to jazz, soul, R&B and folk music. Her first album “First Take” was released in 1969 and quickly made her a star. The album reached the top spot of the American pop and R&B chart and was certified Platinum. The peak of her career was in 1973 when she released her album “Killing Me Softly”. The album went on 2 x Platinum and has become the best-selling album in her discography. The album spawned hit singles number one “Killing me Softly With His Song”. The single was certified Gold. Some other of her top singles are "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face", "Feel Like Makin' Love", "The Closer I Get to You" (with Donny Hathaway) and others.
