Australian-American power pop and pop rock songwriter, musician and actor Rick Springfield was born on 23 August 1949 in Sydney, Australia. He began his music career as a singer and guitarist of the Rock House band (later MPD, Ltd), in 1967. In two years, he left this group and founded Wickedy Wak band, but it broke up very soon. In the late 1960s, he joined the pop rock band Zoot, which became very popular in Australia. In the early 1970s, the band broke up and he decided to begin a solo career. He quickly became popular with number one hit "Speak to the Sky". In 1982, he released his most successful album, Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet, which has been certified Platinum. It also produced five hit singles, "Don't Talk to Strangers", "What Kind Of Fool Am I", "I Get Excited", "Don't Talk To Strangers" and "Calling All Girls".
