American hip hop artist Reef the Lost Cauze (birth name Sharif Talib Lacey) was born on December 30, 1981, in Philadelphia, PA. As a teenager, he began battling other rappers. As a result, he quickly gained a reputation as one of the most popular battle mc's in Philadelphia. After such success, he firmly decided to continue music career and when he was nineteen, he dropped out of college. In early 2001, he released his first record, The High Life, which brought a contract with record label for him. Two years later, he released his breakthrough and most successful album, Invisible Empire, which produced several singles such as "Intro (In The Caddy)", "Gladiator", "Follow The Drum", "Deadly Combo" and "The Puzzle".
