Red Flag is an American synthpop band formed in San Diego, California, the United States in 1984. The band was formed by brothers Chris Reynolds and Mark Reynolds. They started playing electronic music for the first time in 1982 and recorded their first song “Distant Memories” under the name Shades of May. Later they changed the name for Red Flag. It was always associated with the Soviet Union flag though brothers insisted that it was wrong. The debut album Naïve Art was released in 1989. The album spawned such singles as “Russian Radio” and “If I Ever”. Both singles charted quite well on the US Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts reaching number 11 and 12 respectively.
