Rare Earth

Rare Earth is an American rock band formed in 1968 in Detroit, Michigan, the United States. Originally the band was named The Sunliners and it was founded much earlier, namely in 1960 and the current name Rare Earth appeared only in 1968. The original band’s line-up included Gil Bridges (saxophone, flute and vocals ), Peter Rivera a.k.a. Peter Hoorelbeke (lead vocals and drums), John Persh a.k.a. John Parrish (bass guitar, trombone and vocals), Rod Richards (birth name Rod Cox, guitar, vocals)and Kenny James (birth name Ken Folcik, keyboards). The band has released quite a number of albums. The last one A Brand New World was released in 2008. The band released singles, mainly in 1970s when they have several top 40 ones.
