Ponys

The Ponys are an American indie rock and garage rock band from Chicago, Illinois, the United States. The band was founded by Jered Gummere in 2001. He left his previous band guilty Pleasures and devoted all the time to his new band the Ponys. The other core member of the band is Gummere’s girlfriend Melissa Elias. Other members are Nathan Jerde and Brian Case. After the formation, the band went on to play in clubs and soon they were signed. The debut album Laced with Romance was released in 2004 through In the Red Records. The album was noticed by the national media like Rolling Stone and Spin. The following album Celebration Castle came out in 2005. It was produced by Steve Albini who had worked with Nirvana, PJ Harvey and with others.
