Algernod Lanier Washington, better known under his stage name Plies is an American rapper born on July 1, 1976 in Fort Meyers, Florida, the United States. During his career, he has released four studio albums, and about 10 singles. The debut album The Real Testament was released in 2007. The album reached number 2 on the Billboard 200, on R&B/Hip-hop, and on US Rap chart. The next album Definition of Real came out next year and repeated the achievements of the debut album. The last album Goon Affiliated was released in 2010. The album topped R&B/Hip-hop top albums and US Rap chart. It spawned two singles “Becky” and “She Got It Made”. He was three times nominated for BET Hip-hop awards.
