People Under the Stairs

People Under The Stairs (abbreviated as P.U.T.S.) are an American hip hop group formed in 1997 in Los Angeles, California, the United States. The band hasn’t reached the mainstream success, yet they could gain the popularity on the underground scene and can be compared to such acts like Ugly Duckling, Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest, and others. The group composes of two MCs – Thes One (Chris Portugal from Peru, Lima) and Double K (Michael Turner Jr. from Los Angeles, California). Both of them are also talented in DJing. The debut album The Next Step was released on their own at first. Later the duo signed a deal with Om Records, which released the debut record as well. The album received critical acclaim and success among hip-hop audience. This inspired the group to go on and their next album Question in the Form of an Answer was released in 2000.
