Penumbra

French gothic metal, death metal and heavy metal band Penumbra was founded in 1996. The band’s current line-up comprises Asphodel (Vocals), Jarlaath (Vocals, oboe), Néo (Guitars), Loïc (Guitars), Agone (Bass), Zoltan (Keyboards) and Arathelis (Drums). Initially, this group was created by Jarlaath and Dorian. They met each other at a concert in the early 1990s. They quickly understood that they have common views on various things, especially on music styles. As a result, they decided to organize their own band. They recruited more several members and started recording their debut album entitled Emanate. This work earned a record contract with Season of Mist for the band. Several years later, they produced their following album, The Last Bewitchment. They achieved mainstream success in 2003 with their third record, Seclusion, which yielded the band’s first singles such as "Tragical Memories", "Cursed Destiny" and "Seclusion".
