Paulina Rubio

Mexican pop singer and actress Paulina Rubio (birth name Paulina Rubio Rue-Riesta) was born on June 17, 1971, in Mexico City, Mexico. She is also known as "The Golden Girl", "La Chica Dorada" and "Queen of Latin Pop". At age 5, she was taking singing, acting, jazz, painting, and dance lessons while enrolled at what is now the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) in Mexico. After two years there, her parents were contacted by Julisa and Guillermo del Bosque for approval of Paulina's joining a band that would be formed by children from the center. In 2009, she released her ninth and latest album, Gran City Pop. The album's lead single, "Causa y Efecto", became her first number one single on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs.
