Patti Smith
American alternative rock and post punk singer–songwriter and poet Patti Smith (birth name Patricia Lee Smith) was born on December 30, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois. She is often considered as a pioneer of the New York City punk rock movement. She appeared on the American punk scene in the mid-1970 with her debut album, Horses, which yielded several hit singles such as "Gloria: In Excelsis Deo / Gloria (version)", "Redondo Beach" and "Free Money".
