Neurosis is an American experimental metal band formed in Oakland, California, the United States in 1985. The band was founded by Scott Kelly, Dave Edwardson and Jason Roeder. The current line-up composes of Scott Kelly (guitar, vocals), Steve Von Till (guitar, vocals), Dave Edwardson (bass guitar, keyboards, synthesizer and vocals), Noah Landis (organ, piano, samples), Jason Roeder (drums), Josh Graham (visual artist). The band has elaborated a unique sound incorporating elements from hardcore punk, doom metal, dark ambient, industrial, indie and even folk music. This genre is often called “post-metal” and the band is said to be its originator. The band has released nine studio albums.
