Neko Case

Neko Case is an American alternative country singer-songwriter born on September 8, 1970 in Alexandria, Virginia, the United States. She was born to teenage parents of Ukrainian origin and the original family name was Shevchenko but later it was changed. The family traveled around and finally settled in Tacoma, Washington. Neko considers this place to be her hometown. She is known best of all for her solo career and for her contributions as the member of a Canadian indie folk group The New Pornographers. She released four albums with the band and eight solo albums. Her last solo album Middle Cyclone was released in 2009. The album has become her most popular one to date reaching number 3 on the Billboard 200, number 2 on Top rock albums and number 1 on Top Independent Albums.
