The Nation are an American indie-rock and post-punk revival band coming from Cincinnati, Ohio. The band was founded in 1999 and now they are based in Brooklyn. The band’s line-up composes of Matt Barninger (vocals, lyrics), Aaron Dessner (bass, guitar, piano), Bryce Dessner (guitar), Scott Devendorf (bass and guitar), Bryan Devendorf (drums). The band’s influences include many groups from Joy Division to Bruce Springsteen. The band has released five studio albums. The debut self-titled album came out in 2001. It wasn’t noticed by the majority of the public. The breakthrough to the mainstream success happened in 2010 with a release of their fifth album High Violet.
