American folk rock, urban folk and indie rock band The Mountain Goats from North Carolina, was formed in 1991. The band's current line-up comprises John Darnielle (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboard), Peter Hughes (Bass) and Jon Wurster (Drums). Originally, the group was founded by folk rock musician John Darnielle. The band achieved mainstream success in 2002 with their album, Tallahassee, which was released through the British alternative rock label 4AD. It also produced their first official single, "See America Right". In 2004, they released their following album, We Shall All Be Healed, which spawned several singles such as "Linda Blair Was Born Innocent", "Letter from Belgium", "Young Thousands" and "Slow West Vultures".
