Molly Hatchet is an American southern rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida, the United States in 1971. The band was founded by David Hlubek and Steve Holland. The band took their name after the infamous prostitute who beheaded her clients. The band is still playing and the current line-up composes of Bobby Ingram – guitar, Phil McCormack – lead vocals, Dave Hlubek – guitar, John Galvin – keyboards and organ, Tim Lindsey – bass and Shawn Beamer – drums. The peak of the band’s popularity was at the end of the 1970s when they released their first three albums. The mainstream audience knows them for their hit single “Flirtin’ With Disaster” from the same-titled album. It’s the second band’s album released in 1979.
