Minus the Bear

American experimental rock, indie rock and math rock band Minus the Bear from Seattle, Washington, USA, was formed in 2001. The band comprises Dave Knudson (guitar), Cory Murchy (bass), Alex Rose (synthesizer, drum machine, vocals, electronics, saxophone), Jake Snider (lead vocals, guitar) and Erin Tate (drums). Their sound is a combination of Pele-esque guitar-taps and electronics, with sophisticated time signature composition. They rose to fame in 2002 with their debut album, Highly Refined Pirates, which spawned several singles such as "Get Me Naked 2: Electric Boogaloo", "We Are Not a Football Team", "You Kill Bugs Good, Man", "Spritz!!! Spritz!!!", "Women We Haven't Met Yet" and "Damn Bugs Whacked Him, Johnny". It also included two UK bonus tracks, "You're Some Sort of Big, Fat, Smart-Bug, Aren't You?" and "Drop it Like it's Hot".
