Mina Anna Mazzini, born Anna Maria Mazzini and better known by her stage name Mina is an Italian pop singer. She was born March 25, 1940 in Busto Arsizio. The peak of her popularity was in 60s and in 70s when she hit all the Italian charts. She combined traditional Italian music with modern styles and this made her one of the most versatile pop singers in Italy. She covered such genres as pop, soul, rhythm abd blues, jazz, rock and roll, blues, bossa nova, nuevo tango and others. She appeared very often on different TV shows but the relationship with a married actor and her pregnancy caused a ban on public Italian TV channels.
