Mike Ness

Michael James Ness, better known as Mike Ness was born on April 3, 1962 in Lynn, Massachusetts, the United States. He is an American guitarist, vocalist and main songwriter in the band Social Distortion where he is the only original member left. Ness left his father’s home at the age of 15 and quickly appeared on the punk scene. He and he friend Dennis Danell founded the band Social Distortion in 1978. Ness is known also for his solo career. The debut album Cheating at Solitaire was released in 1999. The album featured guest appearances of Bruce Springsteen, Brian Setzer, and members of Royal Crown Revue. The album’s genre can be classified as roots rock, country, Americana and rock and roll, not the punk style of Social Distortion.
