Michael Johnson

American folk, folk rock, country, country folk and rock and roll singer, songwriter and musician Michael Johnson was born on August 8, 1944, Alamosa, Colorado. At the age of 13, he began playing guitar. When he was 15, he won an international talent contest. First prize was a contract with Epic Records. Several months later, his first self-written single, "Hills", was released through this record label. During that time, he often performed at local clubs and bars. In the early 1970s, he signed a contract with Atco Records. The same year, he released his first breakthrough album, There Is a Breeze, which yielded several singles, "Pilot Me", "In Your Eyes" and "There Is A Breeze".
