Melissa Ferrick

Melissa Ferrick is an American rock-folk singer-songwriter born on September 21, 1970 in Massachussetts, the United States. She began her career singing and playing in coffeehouses and her first break happened in 1991 when she opened for the singer Morrissey. After that performance, she was signed by Atlantic records. The debut album Massive Blur was released in 1993. The second album Willing to Wait came out in 1995. Ferrick’s works disappointed producers and Atlantic dropped her. Her next record label was W.A.R.? - What Are Records? Her following three albums were released through this label but she left it as well and founded her own Right On Records. Since 2000, all her albums have been released through it. Ferrick was inspired by many artists like Bruce Springsteen, Tori Amos, The Beatles, Coldplay, Ryan Adams and others.
