Meco

Domenico Monardo, known better as Meco is an American record producer and musician, born on November 29, 1939 in Johnsonburg, Pennsylvania, the United States. Meco is also the name of his band and the team around him. Meco rose to fame in the end of the 1970s with his version of the Star Wars soundtrack. As he watched the film for several times, he had the idea of creating the disco cover for the John Williams music. He quickly contacted Casablanca Records and in three weeks he and his team arranged and recorded the smashing album Star Wars and Other Galactic Funk. The album received a nomination for Grammy Award but the original composer John Williams won it. Meco continued releasing rearranged soundtracks. Some of his next albums are Superman & Other Galactic Heroes, Meco Plays Music from The Empire Strikes Back and others.
