Meat Puppets

Meat Puppets are an American alternative rock band coming from Phoenix, Arizona, the United States. The band was founded in 1980 and the initial line-up composed of Curt Kirkwood (guitar/vocals), his brother Cris Kirkwood (bass guitar), and Derrick Bostrom (drums). The current members are brothers Kirkwood and their new drummer Shandon Sahm. The band split two times but eventually they reunited again. During their career, they have released 12 studio albums, 4 extended plays, and 16 singles. The group achieved the mainstream success at the beginning of the 1990 when they were noticed by Kurt Cobain who became their fan after seeing them opening for Black Flag. The band was invited to join Kurt on the MTV Unplugged. At the same time, they released a single “Backwater” (their own charting song) and became more prominent.
