Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, often shortened to the Gimmes and Me First are a punk rock supergroup and cover band formed in California, the United States in 1995. The band’s name was taken from the name of a children’s book written by Gerald G. Jampolsky and Diane V. Cirincione. The band’s line-up composes of Spike Slawson (of Swingin' Utters and Re-Volts)- vocals, Joey Cape (of Lagwagon)- guitar, Chris Shiflett (of Foo Fighters ex- No Use For A Name)- guitar, Fat Mike (of NOFX)- bass and Dave Raun (of Lagwagon)- drums. The band has released seven studio albums. Each of their albums is focused on a certain period. For example the debut album Have a Ball features covers on Elton John, John Denver, and Neil Diamond and on the classic songs from 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
