Matt Monro, birth name Terence Edward Parsons was an English singer born on December 1, 1930 in Shoreditch, London, England and died on February 7, 1985 in London. He was one of the most popular artists during the 1960s around the world. He successfully toured in Europe, the United States, Japan, Hong Kong, South Africa and many other countries. Before starting singing career, he was a bus driver. He joined the BBC Show Band. That was the beginning of his way to the international fame. At the beginning of the 1960s, Billboard magazine called him “Top International Act”. His hit singles of that time were "My Kind of Girl" (1961), "Softly as I Leave You" (1962) and the James Bond theme From Russia with Love (1963).
