Magnetic Fields

American indie pop and rock music band The Magnetic Fields from Boston, Massachusetts, was formed in 1989. The band's current line-up comprises Stephin Merritt (ukulele, keyboard, lead vocals), Claudia Gonson (percussion, piano, vocals), Sam Davol (cello and flute) and John Woo (banjo and guitar). Originally the band performed under the name Buffalo Rome. During this time, the band was led by only one member Stephin Merritt. In 1999, they released their significant album, 69 Love Songs, which brought the band a contract with Nonesuch Records label. In 2004, they released their following album, i, which reached number 152 on the Billboard 200 album chart. It also included the group's well known songs such as "I Don't Really Love You Anymore", "I Looked All Over Town", "I Thought You Were My Boyfriend" and "I Was Born".
